Dan Towriss Director Emeritus
Mr. Towriss serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Group 1001. He is an insurance veteran with more than 22 years of experience in the life insurance industry. Mr. Towriss is a graduate of Ball State University, a credentialed actuary, and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries as well as a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Ryan Cloud Director
Mr. Cloud serves as Chief Legal Officer of Clear Spring Life. Prior to this role, Mr. Cloud was an attorney at the New York and Chicago offices of Sidney Austin LLP.
Karen Maginn Director and Chair
Ms. Maginn is the President of Clear Spring Life Marketing where she is the architect in creating and communicating the brand, voice, and marketing vision in order to increase brand awareness, loyalty, and sales. She leads all sales, service, and member marketing strategies to support the company’s growth objectives. Ms. Maginn has over 30 years in the financial services industry.
Melissa Watson Director
Ms. Watson is the Director of Finance Special Projects at Republic Airways. Prior to this role, she served as Assistant Vice President of Corporate Planning at Guggenheim Life and Annuity Company as well as a Senior Corporate Financial Analyst at Hurco Companies, Inc. She is also a certified public accountant (CPA).

Susan Wilson Director
Ms. Wilson is the Director of Strategic Data at JD Byrider and is responsible for all strategic data analysis and software development in collections and payment acceptance. JD Byrider is a franchise organization that supports over 160 locations and has sold more than 1 million vehicles.

Elly Nettleton Controller & Treasurer
Ms. Nettleton is a Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Office at Group 1001. Prior to this role, Ms. Nettleton was a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She is also a certified public accountant (CPA).
Andrea Walters Secretary
Ms. Walters is a Senior Investment Accountant in Investment Accounting at Group 1001. Prior to this role, she served as a Senior Financial Analyst in the private sector, as well as Senior Investment Accountant at CNO Financial Group, Inc. She has over 14 years in the financial services industry.
